Another adults-only all-inclusive is coming to Punta Cana
Playa Bávaro runs for miles along the eastern edge of the Dominican Republic, a stretch of white sand lined with palms and large resorts facing the Caribbean. It’s the center of tourism in Punta Cana, the place most travelers picture when they think about the country’s Caribbean coast.
Soon, another resort will join that shoreline.
A new hotel called Lopesan Serenity Bay Resort, Spa & Casino is scheduled to open in the second quarter of this year, bringing a new adults-only all-inclusive resort to Punta Cana. The property will include 239 suites, a cluster of pools and a long lineup of restaurants and bars designed for travelers looking for a quieter all-inclusive environment. It’s part of a trio of new additions to the resort.
It’s the latest development in one of the Caribbean’s most popular resort destinations.
A new hotel inside one of Punta Cana’s most recognized resorts
The upcoming Lopesan Serenity Bay will be located inside the broader Lopesan Costa Bávaro resort complex, one of the most established all-inclusive developments in Punta Cana.
The larger Lopesan resort has built a reputation as one of the most talked-about hotels in the destination. In recent years it has regularly been named the number one all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana in traveler rankings, thanks to its scale, its architecture and its extensive lineup of restaurants, pools and entertainment venues.
Serenity Bay will operate as a separate adults-only hotel within that larger resort environment.
That structure gives guests two experiences at once. You stay inside a quieter adults-only property designed for couples and adult travelers, while still having access to the much larger Lopesan complex just steps away.
It’s a model that has become increasingly common across the Caribbean: smaller hotels positioned inside larger resort districts, allowing guests to move between calm and activity depending on the moment.
Why Punta Cana keeps growing
Few destinations in the Caribbean have expanded as quickly as Punta Cana.
The formula is simple. The region combines wide beaches, consistent weather and nonstop flights from major cities across North America and Europe. Travelers arrive at Punta Cana International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the Caribbean, and within minutes they are driving past rows of beachfront resorts.
The majority of tourism activity concentrates along Playa Bávaro, a long stretch of coast where resorts line the water one after another.
The beach is wide, the water is calm and the sand is bright white. It’s the kind of shoreline that makes Punta Cana instantly recognizable in travel photos.
Over the last decade, the destination has also seen rapid growth in adults-only all-inclusive resorts.
Couples and adult travelers increasingly choose hotels designed specifically for them — fewer family-oriented amenities and more focus on restaurants, bars, pools and nightlife.
Serenity Bay will be part of that growing segment.
The suites
The new resort will include 239 suites, most of them designed as junior suites with terraces or balconies.
The entry category begins with tropical-view junior suites, offering just over 40 square meters of interior space along with outdoor seating areas.
Other categories will include pool-view suites and swim-up suites, where the terrace connects directly to a shared pool.
Those swim-up rooms have become a defining feature of modern all-inclusive resorts. You step outside your room and into the water without ever crossing the pool deck.
Inside the suites the design leans toward a modern Caribbean resort style: king or queen beds, seating areas, smart televisions, Wi-Fi, minibars and walk-in showers.
Some rooms will also include Nespresso coffee machines and dressing areas, small details that have become common in newer resort builds.
The hotel will also include a small number of one-bedroom suites, offering larger living areas and expanded terrace space for guests who want additional room.
The concept across the accommodations is simple. The room is a comfortable base between time at the beach, the pool and the restaurants.
Pools at the center of the resort
Pools will anchor much of the daily activity at the new resort.
The centerpiece is a lagoon-style main pool, designed as the social hub of the property. Loungers and umbrellas line the water, creating the classic Caribbean pool deck environment.
Several other water areas will be spread across the grounds.
One of the most unusual features is a wave pool, something rarely seen at Caribbean resorts. The water produces artificial waves at regular intervals, creating a different kind of pool experience from the typical calm swimming areas.
Elsewhere on the property, a Vela Beach Club pool will offer a more beach-club-style atmosphere with loungers and drinks served nearby.
The resort will also include a dedicated adults-only pool, offering a quieter environment if you want to step away from the main activity areas.
Across the resort you’ll also find pool bars positioned within easy reach of the water.
That layout keeps drinks and food close at hand whether you’re swimming, lounging or moving between pools.
Restaurants across the resort
Dining will be a major part of the experience at Serenity Bay.
The resort will include a mix of buffet dining and specialty restaurants, offering a range of international cuisines.
Guests will find restaurants focused on French, Thai, Italian and Brazilian cuisine, along with a Nikkei restaurant, a style that blends Japanese techniques with Peruvian ingredients.
A Tex-Mex concept will also be part of the restaurant lineup.
Alongside those venues, the resort will feature cafés, bars and casual dining spaces where guests can grab a quick bite between pool time and beach time.
Inside the adults-only hotel section, several restaurants will operate specifically for Serenity Bay guests.
If you want a quieter dinner environment, you stay within the adults-only restaurants. If you want more options, the larger Lopesan complex just beyond offers additional venues.
That flexibility is one of the advantages of the resort’s structure.
The Boulevard: a resort entertainment district
Beyond the pools and restaurants, the Lopesan complex also includes a dedicated entertainment area known as The Boulevard.
The district functions almost like a small resort village.
Guests will find a casino, bowling alley, theater, bars and retail shops, along with additional restaurants and nightlife venues.
There are also fitness facilities, spa services and a discotheque inside the complex.
For guests staying at Serenity Bay, the entertainment district provides an option for evenings when you want something beyond the typical resort dinner-and-drinks routine.
You spend the day at the beach or pool, then walk into the entertainment district for music, drinks or nightlife before heading back to the quieter hotel.
The broader Lopesan resort
The arrival of Serenity Bay expands an already large resort development.
The Lopesan Costa Bávaro complex has regularly been named the top all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana since its debut.
The property is known for its modern architecture, its massive lagoon-style pools and its wide selection of restaurants and bars.
Travelers often mention the resort’s scale and variety as reasons they return.
In recent years the hotel has also appeared frequently in traveler rankings and review lists, where it has regularly been named the top all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana.
Serenity Bay will add a new dimension to that property: a fully adults-only hotel experience inside the larger resort.
Getting there
One of Punta Cana’s biggest advantages remains accessibility.
Flights arrive daily from cities across the United States, Canada and Europe, connecting travelers directly to the Dominican Republic’s eastern coast.
Once you land at Punta Cana International Airport, the drive to Playa Bávaro typically takes less than half an hour.
From there, the experience becomes familiar to anyone who has visited Punta Cana.
You pass rows of resorts, palm-lined roads and golf courses before reaching the beach.
And now, another resort will soon join that lineup.
When Lopesan Serenity Bay Resort, Spa & Casino opens in 2026, it will bring a new adults-only all-inclusive option to Punta Cana, adding another layer to one of the Caribbean’s most established resort destinations.
For travelers planning a beach vacation in the Dominican Republic, it will offer a familiar formula — suites, pools, restaurants and nightlife — delivered in a quieter, adults-focused environment along the shores of Playa Bávaro.
