A wave of pink filled the streets on Sunday, as close to 300 participants took part in this year’s instalment of the Run in Paradise event.
The half marathon event was dominated by Kemar Thomas in a time of 1:19:26. He was followed by Dr. Peter Borowsky, who finished in 1:21:18. Dr. Borowsky, a seasoned marathon enthusiast, flew into Antigua specifically to compete in Run in Paradise. It was his first time visiting the island and is currently training for the Ironman World Championship in France this September.
In the 10K race, Marajah Jaiden crossed the finish line ahead of the pack, registering a time of 45:32.0, while Kevin Gomez secured second place at 53:22.7.

The 5K run saw rising young athlete Kennessa Dinard Jr. take first place with a time of 22:55.9, closely followed by Michele Delco, who came in at 25:28.5.
But beyond the top finishers, the true spirit of Run in Paradise shone through as every participant who completed the race received a commemorative medal, a testament to the commitment, endurance, and community focus of the event.
Dr. Borowsky praised the race, saying, “Run in Paradise is an elite marathon, not only for its stunning island scenery but also for the warmth and encouragement of the people. It truly sets itself apart.”
This year’s race also featured a strong turnout from corporate teams and sports groups, who used the event as a team building and endurance exercise.
Organisers of the Run in Paradise event extended heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, and sponsors who made this year’s event possible, including: FLOW, Guardian Life, Cool & Smooth, Total Imports, Island Provision, Caribbean Premium Motors, Siboney Hotel, Clean Food & Juice, Signs & Impressions, and the Antigua & Barbuda Police Force, along with the many individuals who worked through the night to ensure the event’s success.
A total of 297 individuals took part in the event.
