By Breaking Belize News Staff: A San Pedro resident has been convicted and fined for possession of a crack pipe following a court appearance in Belize City on Monday afternoon.
Ricardo Gongora, 35, of the DFC area in San Pedro Town, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Ludlow Black in Court #4 to a single charge of possession of a pipe used for smoking a controlled drug—specifically crack cocaine.
Police allege that on Sunday, July 20, 2025, Gongora was found on an unnamed street in San Pedro with a 2.5-inch cylindrical metal pipe, which was made and adapted for smoking the illegal substance.
As a first-time offender, Gongora received a non-custodial sentence and was fined $200 plus a $5 cost of court. He has until July 31, 2025, to pay the fine or face two months in prison by default.
