Nonstop service between Detroit and Grand Cayman is coming back this winter, and now the route is bookable on Delta, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The nonstop service from Detroit Metro Airport to Owen Roberts International Airport will be restarting on Dec. 20.
The four-hour flight is now on sale, signaling a continued rise in demand for Cayman.
So when will it be operating? Once weekly on Saturdays for the peak season, with service lasting though April 2026.

It’s the first time the service has operated since before the pandemic, and another boost for a destination that continues to see tourism growth in 2025.
“This route was a beloved connection for travelers prior to the pandemic,” Cayman Islands Director of Tourism said in a statement shared with Caribbean Journal. “IT remained one of the only pre-pandemic routes that hadn’t returned to our destination. Its return this winter completes a significant chapter in the recovery of our tourism industry.”
Notably, the service is also a great option for Canadian travelers living right across the border in areas like Windsor, Ontario.
So what about prices?
Right now, the ultra-peak-season flights on Dec. 20 and returning Dec. 27 have rates of about $878 for the four-hour flight, according to data from Google Flights. Head into January, and fares go lower, at about $677 roundtrip in economy.
