
In a process that reportedly marks the highest public engagement to date, the National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD) was voted as outstanding, securing honor in three key categories at 2025 ECCU Bank of the Year Awards. At the ceremony hosted in St. Kitts, the institution nabbed the awards for Technological Innovation, Customer Service, and the prestigious ECCU Bank of the Year Award, as outlined in a media release.
Founded in 2024, the ECCU Distinguished Bank of the Year Award recognizes financial institutions that exemplify strategic direction and innovative business strategies. According to the NBD, this year, the competition saw seven commercial banks submit a total of 34 entries, with over 3,000 members of the public participating in online voting.
In addition to these wins, NBD was a finalist in all six award categories, which included Corporate Social Responsibility, Financial Education and Empowerment, and Support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

In its release, NBD acknowledges that winning for Technological Innovation celebrates the organizations ongoing efforts to revolutionize digital banking in Dominica, by introducing modern solutions aimed at improving accessibility, convenience, and security reflect its forward-looking approach to banking.
It added that the Customer Service Award reaffirms NBD’s reputation for attentive, professional, and customer-centric service.
Regarding the ECCU Bank of the Year Award, the NBD statement expressed the team’s pride:
“The night’s most prestigious honour, the ECCU Distinguished Bank of the Year Award, stands as a testament to NBD’s overall leadership, strategic vision, and consistent delivery of excellence. It recognizes the Bank’s extensive contributions to financial stability, community empowerment, and innovation-driven progress.”
