
Caribbean Week 2025, slated for June 1-6, features a schedule of activities that the Caribbean Tourism Organization says are designed to showcase the region’s bountiful tourism and cultural offerings under the umbrella theme, “Caribbean Resilience: Crafting Tomorrow’s Tourism.”
A CTO press release revealed that the event will take place in New York City, coinciding with Caribbean Heritage Month.
The Dominican representatives are set to take the stage with regional peers, as part of the island’s strategic approach to this regional tourism development event.
Marva Williams leads the charge, as CEO of the Discover Dominica Authority, bringing her expertise to the fore in promoting Dominica’s unique offerings. Along with the artistic and athletic representation from Asa Bantan and Thea LaFond, the trio constitutes a diverse array of achievements. Asa is best known for his repertoire of Bouyon music, and Lafond coming to international renown as Dominica’s first Olympic gold medalist. According to the event organizers, the island’s participation as a platinum sponsor also underscores its commitment to strengthening regional partnerships and investing in innovative tourism initiatives.

Highlights will incorporate sessions on artificial intelligence and hospitality innovation, the launch of the CTO Reimagine Plan, and various forums on airline and cruise connectivity. The week also features a Caribbean Cultural Showcase in Times Square, where attendees can enjoy live music, island-inspired cuisine, and art displays, further emphasizing the region’s diverse cultural heritage. The event provides a platform for regional leaders, industry experts, and youth entrepreneurs to network, share ideas, and explore opportunities for sustainable tourism development across the Caribbean.
