This summer, traveling to Antigua and Barbuda will be simpler, thanks to a new digital entry and exit system.
The Caribbean nation, made up of two islands, is known for its 365 beaches with clear blue water and golden sand. It’s a favorite for beach lovers and sun seekers.
A new digital system has just been launched at VC Bird International Airport in Antigua. The website, arriveantigua.com, lets travelers enter their details before they arrive. This means less waiting in airport lines.
Visitors can use their phones or tablets to scan their passports and fill out key information. They’ll also answer a few short questions about their trip and customs. After that, they’ll receive a QR code, which they can save or print. This code is shown at Immigration and Customs on arrival.
The system will also be expanded to include sea arrivals and private jet passengers.
British Airways and Virgin Atlantic both fly direct to Antigua from London. The flight takes around nine hours and tickets start at about UK £500.
Charles Fernandez, Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism minister, said this is a big step to improve the visitor experience. The goal is to make the process smoother and more welcoming from the moment travelers land.
In addition to its beaches, Antigua and Barbuda offer history, water sports, rainforests, and unique wildlife. Nelson’s Dockyard and quiet spots like Ffryes Beach are popular with tourists.
Barbuda also opened a new airport last year. Costing £10.8 million, it aims to boost tourism and economic growth. For now, it only serves private flights.
