Jamaica’s tourism industry is still growing, with stopover arrivals rising 4.1 percent by the end of August compared to the same period in 2024. Earnings are also up 5.6 percent.
Tourism Director Donovan White said this shows that visitors are staying longer and spending more, which is good for the country’s future. He credited close cooperation between airlines, hotels, and other partners for the success.
White explained that Jamaica not only bounced back from the pandemic but has grown beyond pre-COVID levels. He also praised the joint effort that helped manage the impact of the U.S. travel advisory, which dropped from level three to level two in May 2025.
He said transparency, quick response, and teamwork are key to keeping visitor trust in Jamaica’s brand.
JAPEX 2025, held in Montego Bay, brought together local and international players to discuss investment, flights, new products, and marketing strategies.
