By Aaron Humes: Orange Walk Town was shaken by a brazen armed robbery on Friday afternoon when three sales employees were ambushed while on their way to deposit cash from the day’s sales. The incident occurred on Arthur Street, near the Town Hall.
A 44-year-old salesman for Triple A Imports, was traveling in a pickup truck with two female coworkers when they were unexpectedly blocked by a white Equinox SUV that pulled out from a parking lot directly in front of them.

According to police reports, two men emerged from the SUV, with one brandishing a hammer and the other appearing to carry a firearm. The assailant with the hammer struck the driver’s side window, demanding the cash the trio was transporting. The second robber suddenly fired a shot into the vehicle, narrowly missing the driver.
In a state of panic, the women complied, surrendering two bags that contained an undisclosed amount of cash and cheques before the suspects fled the scene in the SUV, speeding towards Progress Street.
As of now, no stolen property has been recovered, and the identities of the suspects remain unknown.
Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward, as they continue to investigate this act of violence in broad daylight.
