
The Business and Professional Women’s Club announced a new executive board for the 2025-2027 term at its annual general meeting on 21 May at George Town Yacht Club.
During the meeting, the organisation’s accomplishments during the 2023-2025 term that were highlighted included:
- The successful tabling of anti-stalking and sexual harassment legislation after 24 years of persistent advocacy.
- The organisation’s influential voice on the national Minimum Wage Review Committee.
- The continued impact of the Silent Witness March in raising awareness around gender-based violence.
- Ongoing support of Junior Achievement, encouraging youth entrepreneurship.
- Impactful campaigns during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
- The awarding of more than five educational scholarships to young women pursuing professional careers.
- The continued success of the community partnership with the Alex Panton Foundation with its annual youth symposium.
- Active participation in key regional and international conferences, including in St. Kitts, Dominica and New York.
Incoming President Andrea Williams reflected on the importance of the organisation’s trajectory as it approaches a major milestone.
“As we prepare to celebrate BPW Grand Cayman’s 50th anniversary in 2026, our focus is clear: we must continue our legacy of policy advocacy, gender equity and leadership development,” she said.
“Hosting the upcoming Regional Conference for the Americas and the Caribbean is both a privilege and a responsibility — and we are ready to rise to the occasion. The work we do today will shape the next generation of women leaders in Cayman and beyond.”
Other members of the executive board for the 2025-2027 term include 1st Vice President Mahreen Nabi, 2nd Vice President Cheryl Myles, Secretary Dorothy Davis, Treasurer Diana Creciun, Membership Secretary Jennifer Kerr, Communications Chair Cheriana Hansen, and Young Business & Professional Women’s Club Representative Alanna Warwick-Smith.
