By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police are investigating a robbery reported on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at around 12:45 a.m. after receiving information from the Control Room of a robbery in progress on 6th Street in front of Wonk Kong Restaurant in Belize City.
Northside personnel responded and met a 54-year-old Chinese national of 6th Street, Kings Park. He reported that he had returned home after purchasing food and had just stepped out of his vehicle when he was approached by two male persons. One was wearing a black hoodie, while the other wore a white hoodie, and both had their faces covered with masks.
One of the assailants, armed with a firearm, demanded that he take them inside his apartment. The victim was struck on the head with the firearm, causing pain and bleeding. The men then attempted to force him toward his apartment. However, a neighbor came outside, prompting both attackers to flee the area. They escaped in the victim’s blue Toyota SUV and drove off in the direction of St. Thomas Street.
A Scene of Crime technician processed the scene and took blood swabs. A medico-legal form was issued, and the victim is listed in stable condition.
No persons have been detained, and the matter remains under investigation.
