5. Youth Are the Future
I have always believed that empowering the next generation is not optional; it is essential. Investing in education, mentorship, and opportunities for young people is the surest path to a nation’s continued growth and prosperity. The future belongs to those we prepare today.
6. Think Global, Stay Rooted
Over the years, I have traveled, collaborated, and learned from communities far beyond our shores. Yet, my heart has always remained in Antigua & Barbuda. To live fully, we must embrace the world — but never forget the values, traditions, and people who shape our identity.
7. Legacy Lives in Community
At the end of the day, a life is measured not by titles or accolades, but by the lives touched, the barriers broken, and the hope inspired. My greatest satisfaction comes from seeing others succeed, from communities strengthened, and from ideas translated into positive action.
Seventy years have taught me that leadership, service, and love for one’s community are intertwined. As I celebrate this milestone, I am filled with gratitude for family, colleagues, friends, and all those whose trust and encouragement have carried me this far.
May these seven lessons inspire each of us — to educate, serve, act with integrity, persevere, empower youth, embrace the world with rootedness, and leave a legacy of meaningful impact. Together, let us continue to build a brighter, stronger, and more united Antigua & Barbuda.
