By Zoila Palma: The Labour Department within the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government in collaboration with the National AIDS Commission, The Belize Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and GO Joven Belize, hosted a 2-day HIV Workplace Policy Education Session for companies from the Cayo District.
Through these sessions, participating companies—including Cahal Pech, The Office Gurus, Midwest Steel, Benque Viejo Town Council, Ka’ana Resort, Transparent BPO, The Lodge at Chaa Creek, Vega’s Distributors, and Broadlight Media—gained valuable knowledge and guidance on developing their workplace policy that safeguard the rights of individuals affected by HIV.

The Ministry noted that the initiative aims to promote awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage inclusive practices within the workforce.
