By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Sagitun GIRLZ FC continued their strong campaign in the Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB) with a 2-0 win over Napoles FC in Week Three, in a match played on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence.
The game remained tightly contested until the 75th minute, when Jolene Aranda broke the deadlock with a decisive goal. Just a minute later, an own goal by Stephanie Barrientos extended Sagitun GIRLZ’ lead, sealing their victory.
The win keeps Sagitun GIRLZ FC at the top of the league standings, tied with Jewel Fury FC on 7 points but boasting a superior +11 goal difference after scoring 13 goals and conceding only 2. Napoles FC, meanwhile, remains in third place with 3 points, struggling with a -3 goal difference after scoring 4 goals and conceding 7.
With momentum on their side, Sagitun GIRLZ FC will look to extend their dominance as the season continues.
