Miami.- The Dominican Republic is set to welcome over ten general aviation aircraft in April as part of the first International Fly-In of 2025, departing directly from the Sun N’ Fun aviation fair in Florida—America’s second-largest aerospace expo. Víctor Pichardo, executive director of the Airport Department, announced the event alongside aviation promoter Jim Parker, emphasizing the country’s efforts to strengthen non-commercial private aviation.
The Fly-In will land first in Puerto Plata for Immigration, Customs, and refueling, before continuing to the Osvaldo Virgil Domestic Airport in Montecristi. The visiting group, made up of affluent tourists, will enjoy excursions and natural attractions until April 11, contributing to the diversification of local tourism.
This initiative, backed by the Dominican government and private partners, aligns with the new Non-Commercial Private Aviation Protocol and aims to position the country as a top Caribbean destination for private aviation, attracting investment and boosting tourism competitiveness.
