Miled Gamil Boutros, an Egyptian American, was charged with attempted murder and kidnapping in a Roseau magistrate court today following a disturbing incident last week in Bellefille, Castle Bruce. Police confirmed to Dominica News Online (DNO) that Boutros, currently on remand at the State Prison, is accused of attempting to take the life of Sheref Ahmed, a male Egyptian national.
According to DNO sources in Castle Bruce, Ahmed was discovered in a severely-injured condition by a neighbor after escaping his alleged kidnapper.
At approximately 5 AM on the day of his escape, the neighbor was tending to his garden when he noticed a man stumbling toward him, pleading for water, our sources reveal. Recognizing that the man was in dire need of medical assistance, the neighbor promptly called for an ambulance.
Ahmed is currently in hospital, receiving treatment for his injuries, while Boutros faces serious charges and has been sent back into custody at the Dominica State Prison.
