By Breaking Belize News Staff: Alfred Alrick Humes was officially called to the Belize Bar of Attorneys for the High Court on Monday, April 7, 2025, marking a significant milestone in his legal career.
Humes took the oath of office before Justice Derick Sylvester, following a motion presented by well-respected attorney and Senior Counsel Simeon Sampson. With this, Humes has now been admitted to practice law in Belize, having fulfilled all the requirements set by the General Legal Council.
An accomplished scholar, Humes holds a Master of Law in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Law, London, conferred on October 1, 2024, and a Bachelor of Laws (Common Law) degree from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, awarded on February 6, 2018.
Since November 5, 2012, Humes has served as a Civilian Prosecutor and Legal Assistant in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) under the Attorney General’s Ministry, Government of Belize. His dedication and academic achievements have now culminated in his formal entrance into the legal profession as an Attorney-at-Law.
Humes’ admission represents not only a personal victory but a proud moment for Belize’s legal community.
