
Leader of the United Workers Party (UWP) Dr. Thomson Fontaine has been granted bail in the sum of $25,000 in his own recognizance, after being arrested and charged with unlawful assembly following protest action which took place on Victoria Street in Roseau on March 19.
He appeared before a Roseau Magistrate today.
Police sources told Dominica News Online(DNO) that a total of 25 persons have been arrested thus far, in relation to the protest.
The matter was adjourned to July 30, 2025.
Dr. Fontaine is being represented by Attorney Geoffrey Letang.
