By Breaking Belize News Staff: Two Belize City men are behind bars after being arraigned for the murder of 24-year-old Luis Patrick Marin, who was fatally shot last week in Majestic Alley on the city’s north side.
Nineteen-year-old Scorian Hillman Stuart, a construction worker of Pinks Alley, and 23-year-old Michael Martin Gillett, a labourer of Gabourel Lane, appeared unrepresented before a Magistrate in Court #5 on Monday morning. They were formally charged with murder in connection with Marin’s death on April 8, 2025.

Due to the seriousness of the offense, which is to be tried on indictment in the High Court, bail was denied. Both men have been remanded to the Belize Central Prison until their next court appearance on June 9, 2025.
According to police reports, Marin, a resident of Cotton Tree Village, was visiting Belize City when he was gunned down while at a residence in Majestic Alley. Just an hour before the shooting, a close family friend reportedly sent him a final text message urging him to stay safe.
The investigation into the city’s latest murder continues.
