Dominica achieved notable success at the 2025 Beneath the Sea Expo, bringing substantial advantages to the island’s tourism industry. This is according to a press release by Discover Dominica Authority.
The organization, in partnership with Nature Island Dive and Coulibri Ridge, effectively positioned Dominica as the Caribbean’s “premier dive destination”, says the statement.
“Dominica’s participation in Beneath the Sea provided numerous benefits, from increased visibility to strategic partnerships, further solidifying our position as a premier dive destination,” remarked Marva Williams, CEO and Director of Tourism.
The recent expo significantly increased exposure for Dominica, showcasing its crystal-clear waters, unique underwater adventures, and the only sperm whale reserve in the world. Reportedly, the presentation attracted a fresh influx of scuba diving enthusiasts and ocean lovers eager to explore the island’s offerings.
Additionally, the event provided valuable networking prospects, allowing for the formation of important relationships with key figures in the industry and potential tourists. DDA reports that these prospects pave the way for collaborations that will enhance tourism growth on the island.
The delegation, led by Williams and Andia Ravariere, the Destination Marketing Manager, included Simon Walsh, the Owner and Operator of Nature Island Dive, along with Maleeva Blanchard, the General Manager of Coulibri Ridge. This strategic engagement provided a platform for direct interaction with participants from the global scuba diving community and travel industry experts.
The Discover Dominica Authority expressed that it continues to advocate for niche tourism markets and is eager to welcome even more dive travelers to the Nature Island in 2025 and beyond.
“We look forward to welcoming more visitors to experience the authentic charm of the Nature Island,” stated Williams.
