By Aaron Humes: The management of Tropic Air is pleased to report that Jair Franchesco Castaneda is out of hospital today following Holy Thursday’s hijacking of a plane between Corozal and San Pedro Town.
Pilot Captain Howell Grange and passenger Fitzgerald Brown remain in stable condition, per the company’s official statement.
All three men sustained stab wounds at the hands of Akinyela Taylor, who was shot shortly after the plane landed at the Philip Goldson International Airport in Ladyville. He died in hospital minutes after being rushed for medical care.
Castaneda amd Brown each received blood donated by residents of Corozal yesterday preceding surgery.
Tropic Air issued thanks to the medical team caring for Castaneda and the continued support of the community, pending further updates on their conditions.
