
Kierra John of Sineku Primary School has copped the title of top reader in the 2025 DBS Radio, Felix Henderson, Ministry of Education National Reading Competition.
Earning a total of 715 points, she defeated nine other competitors at the finals held at the Goodwill Parish Hall on Wednesday.
The results were released by hosts of the competition Ambassador Leroy ‘Wadix’ Charles and Millia Joseph-Denis
With 697 points, Amelia Desbonne of the Roosevelt Douglas Primary School secured the 2nd place. The 3rd place went to Kyra David of the Ebenezer SDA Primary School. She received 662 points. Kaylee Paris of the Lighthouse Christian Academy secured the 4th position with 661 points and the 5th place went to Malique Smith of the Petite Savanne Primary School. He received 552 points.
The other competitors were Adez Jno. Baptiste of the St Luke’s Primary School, Sanni Laville of the Pioneer Preparatory, Emoney Prevost of the San Sauveur Primary School, Amelia Rolle of Bense Primary, and Jahiid Walsh of the Berean Christian Academy.
Meanwhile, in the National Co-operative Credit Union Limited (NCCU) segment of that competition, Nicole George won the title of best reader.
Samine Darroux secured the 2nd place, while Nyrah Remy placed 3rd.
They competed in three rounds which included, Finance News, NCCU News, and Sports News.
