Living on Cayman Brac has become just a little sweeter.
For two months now, Izzy’s Delights has been serving the island food and ice cream through its food truck — the first of its kind in 30 years.
Rochelle Smith and Cameron Brown are the Caymanian owners and operators of Izzy’s Delights. They created it after seeing the need for the service, which is both convenient and delicious.
Keira Bodden, a big fan of Izzy’s, said there hadn’t been an ice cream truck in Cayman Brac in her lifetime.
“It’s wonderful that now we do, especially with how easy and fast it is to get what you want. I’m glad Izzy’s Delights is here,” she said.
The distinct, brightly coloured van regularly makes trips through the island, playing familiar melodies in true ice-cream-truck style. As it moves around Cayman Brac, customers can follow along on their mobile phones with WhatsApp’s live location feature, and request stops at residences, schools and offices.
It makes a daily stop at the Kirkconnell Community Care Centre to the delight of both the elderly clients and staff who eagerly await their savoury bites and ice cream treats.
This business’s goal is to provide positive and wholesome enjoyment to its customers wherever they are on Cayman Brac. In addition to their regular route and stop requests at residences, schools and offices, Izzy’s Delights caters birthday parties and community or private events.
