Clive McDonald Stoute, Imarie Jecodi Griffith and Petria Latoya Griffith have all been found guilty of causing serious bodily harm to one of their neighbours almost five years ago.
The father, son and mother of Fairview, Christ Church, were convicted by a nine-member jury in the No. 4 Supreme Court of unlawfully causing serious bodily harm to Greg Burt with intent to do him serious bodily harm or to maim, disfigure or disable him on December 27, 2020.
After an hour and a half of deliberations, the jury also found that Stoute and Imarie Griffith were responsible for damaging a Suzuki Swift belonging to Shedair Boyce on that same date.
State Counsel Paul Prescod asked that the three be remanded into custody pending sentencing. However, following arguments by defence attorneys Kelly-Ann Blackman and Jade Kennedy, only Stoute was remanded to Dodds Prison.
Madam Justice Laurie-Anne Smith-Bovell, who presided over the matter, informed the Griffiths that while their bail would continue, this did not mean they would avoid a custodial sentence, as the offence of serious bodily harm often attracts imprisonment. A presentence report was ordered for all three, and the matter was adjourned until September 24.
