By Aaron Humes: Early this morning, Saturday, a shooting took place in the San Pedrito area at the residence of the Espat family.
Around 4:25 a.m., officers discovered multiple bullet holes in the front door of a first-floor apartment occupied by a local fisherman. Further investigation revealed that the second-floor apartment, occupied by his older brother also showed signs of gunfire, with several apparent bullet holes visible.
Police found several empty shell casings scattered throughout the yard, indicating a barrage of shots had been fired. No injuries were reported among the residents or bystanders during the incident.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that three masked gunmen targeted the Espat residence. After executing the attack, the suspects fled the scene, jumping over a fence and making their escape via a nearby lagoon, presumably by boat.
The San Pedro Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident.
