Santo Domingo.- Internal Taxes (DGII) reported RD$76,473.8 million in tax collections for July 2025, about RD$76.47 billion, marking an 11.0% increase from the same month a year earlier and exceeding the month’s budget target by RD$2,472.7 million (103.3% of the goal), the agency said Thursday.
Stripping out extraordinary revenues from 2024 and 2025, monthly collections still rose 4.8%, or RD$3,103.1 million, reinforcing what the DGII described as a sustained structural growth trend. From January through July the agency has delivered RD$548,646.1 million (roughly RD$548.65 billion) to the treasury, achieving 101.6% of the estimated target and a cumulative surplus of RD$8,565.6 million.
“The impact of the technological transformation we have developed is reflected in the efficiency of our collections and in taxpayers’ confidence. We have bet on innovation and service as pillars of a more agile and effective DGII,” Director General Luis Valdez Veras said, underscoring the administration’s focus on digital tools and process simplification.
Key tax streams also showed robust performance in July: ITBIS generated RD$17,188.3 million (driven by commerce, services and hotels/restaurants); corporate income tax brought in RD$14,806.7 million; and personal income tax totalled RD$9,191.4 million, helped by a 12.3% rise in the number of salaried workers subject to withholding and a 9.9% increase in amounts withheld. The selective fuel tax yielded RD$8,872.1 million.
Notable one-off gains appeared in the mining sector, where total receipts reached RD$7,592.1 million — including RD$4,504.7 million in corporate income tax, RD$2,729.3 million in mineral royalties and RD$358.1 million in net smelting royalty — a boost attributed to higher gold prices and operational efficiency. Other taxes combined contributed RD$18,823.2 million to the month’s total.
