Eighteen-year-old Jamaican Prestley Hart, a student of Hillel Academy, and 25-year-old Guyanese bartender Shauntae Washington are SAINT International’s Fashion Face of the Caribbean winners.
Presley topped 33 male competitors, while Washington beat 44 young women to claim the title.
The announcement was made at the AC Hotel Kingston on Sunday morning.
Hart, the son of well-known disc jockey Orrett ‘Bambino’ Hart, was encouraged to enter the competition by his aunt.
“I wasn’t previously interested in modelling but a lot of my peers, friends and family members said I could excel in the field, so I was sent to Deiwght (Peters),” he said ahead of the competition.
Hart also spoke of his experience in the competition.
“So far, the learning curve hasn’t been too demanding. I think I have been adjusting accordingly. Looking online for inspiration from other models has been useful for me in identifying what I can correct about my mannerisms and my walk. Everything involved in the process has also been useful,” he said.
The night also saw the naming of the SAINT Avant Garde Designer of the Year.
From a competitive field of 14 entrants, Janseen Graham claimed the SAINT honour for his creation titled ‘Saintly Evolve’ that was modelled by Jada Wright.
Graham previously won the competition in 2023.
This year’s Fashion Face of the Caribbean and Avant Garde Designer of the Year competitions celebrated the Deiwght Peters-led modelling agency’s 25th anniversary and saw the homecoming of several successful models from his agency’s stable, including Tami Williams, Kai Newman, Naki Depass, Wayne Booth, and Winston Lawrence.
