By Aaron Humes: On Thursday, August 21, 13-year-old Jaden Emmanuel Marroquin, a student from Valley of Peace Village, drowned in a farm pond. Police responded to a report of a drowning around 4:50 p.m. and found Jaden’s lifeless body near the pond.
According to ACP Hilberto Romero, Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch, Jaden had been left with his 61-year-old grandfather, Gustavo Marroquin, at the farm where they were working.

At some point, Jaden wandered off without his grandfather’s knowledge and made his way to the pond. A neighbor later discovered Jaden’s body entangled in a net and managed to pull him out, but unfortunately, there were no signs of life. This event followed a similar incident in Ladyville just a day prior.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Jaden’s drowning.
