By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belize wakes to mostly fair and stable weather conditions this morning as the nation proudly celebrates Garifuna Settlement Day. Early cloudiness continues over parts of the country, but forecasters expect long periods of sunshine across most districts.
The National Meteorological Service reports only a few isolated showers lingering mainly over southern Belize, particularly in communities such as Punta Gorda and Barranco where moisture is slightly more pronounced. Elsewhere, conditions remain largely dry and stable, creating an ideal atmosphere for cultural reenactments, drumming, and community gatherings.
Marine conditions are also favorable for coastal travel and ceremonial activities along the shoreline. Winds from the east to northeast at 5 to 15 knots will maintain a slight sea state, producing waves between one and three feet. These light conditions benefit fishers, tour operators, and visitors who plan to move across coastal waters throughout the celebration. No marine advisories are currently in effect.
Temperatures today reflect typical November warmth. Coastal regions will experience highs near 86 degrees Fahrenheit with evening lows around 77 degrees. Inland communities such as Belmopan and San Ignacio will warm slightly higher, reaching about 88 degrees and cooling to 70 degrees overnight. Hill regions remain pleasantly cool, offering comfortable conditions for outdoor events and travel.
Forecasters also note that the North Atlantic Basin remains quiet with no tropical development expected in the coming days, ensuring that festivities remain undisturbed. As Belize honors the arrival of the Garinagu to its shores, today’s stable weather provides a safe and supportive environment for all celebrations nationwide.
