
In his bilateral meeting with the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus ahead of this global conference, the two Health leaders discussed the need to accelerate national and global efforts to beat non-communicable diseases (NCD) through investment in the root causes of these diseases. The WHO Director General assured Dr. Darville of WHO’s ongoing commitment to this important fight. Other issues of mutual interest discussed were WHO reforms, the importance of sustainable health financing, and the visit of WHO officials to The Bahamas in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian.
