Sweet Success: Centenarian Week 2025 Ends with Bake Sale Fundraiser: Community Comes Together to Support National Elders
A Week of Honour and Reflection
The 9th Annual Centenarian Week, hosted by the Community Development and Citizens’ Engagement Division under the Ministry of Social and Urban Transformation, ended on a high note with a Bake Sale Fundraiser on Friday, June 13, 2025.
The week honoured Antigua and Barbuda’s 11 centenarians, including 104-year-old Mrs. Hermena Goodwin of Jonas Road. From Days of Prayer to gift distributions and youth volunteerism, the week paid tribute to those who have shaped the nation with their resilience and legacy.
Bake Sale: Serving Sweetness for a Cause
Held in the parking lot of the Doumith Building, Old Paraham Road, the Bake Sale featured cakes, tarts, pastries, drinks, and local treats. All proceeds will go toward centenarian projects focused on wellness, visibility, and community support.
Staff, volunteers, and supporters turned, making it not just a fundraiser but a meaningful show of appreciation for our elders.
