For Tropical North Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, and Gulf of Mexico
Area Of Special Interest: 10–20°N and 40–65°W
A Trough of Low Pressure: A low-pressure system located more than 600 miles east-northeast of Bermuda is producing gale-force winds. However, the shower and thunderstorm activity remains disorganised. Environmental conditions are still marginally favourable for further development, and an increase in thunderstorm activity could result in the formation of a short-lived tropical depression or tropical storm today or tonight. This system has a high chance, 60%, of becoming a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours.
Tropical Wave 1: A central Atlantic tropical wave is near 53°W, about 510 nautical miles east of Grenada. The axis of this wave extends from 16°N southward and is moving west at 15 to 20 knots. Scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is evident from 06°N to 10°N between 52°W, and Trinidad and Tobago. Based on its current speed, the axis is expected to traverse Grenada on Tuesday morning, however, moisture ahead of the axis is likely to bring showers on Monday night.
The next update will be issued at 8 pm.
