The police are currently searching for a suspect involved in a shooting that occurred yesterday (June 29) outside the Now and Later Supermarket, during which a woman was injured.
Reports are a 54-year-old woman sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her left leg during the incident which occurred at approximately 12:30am. Further reports are that the woman was about to close her business when an unknown male accosted her, robbed her of an undisclosed amount of money, and then shot her.
The suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and was wearing a grey hoodie pulled over his head.
The victim was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre where she is currently receiving treatment. Medical personnel have confirmed that her injury is not life-threatening.
