After nearly 3 years of dedicated service, Principal Officer Frances Herrera will be departing her post at the US Embassy in Grenada.
Herrera has served the Embassy community from September 2022 through July 2025, leading efforts to strengthen the enduring partnership between the United States and Grenada.
As Principal Officer, Herrera led the US Embassy’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and support community initiatives. Reflecting on her time in Grenada, Herrera expressed her deep appreciation for the warm welcome and close collaboration she experienced throughout her tenure. “Serving as Principal Officer at the US Embassy in Grenada has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my career,” said Herrera. “From disaster response and medical missions to supporting education and economic development, our shared efforts have brought tangible benefits to communities across this beautiful island. The spirit of friendship and partnership here is truly inspiring.”
During her time in Grenada, Herrera played a pivotal role in coordinating US Navy medical ship visits, supporting hurricane evacuation efforts, and fostering strong ties with local government agencies, community organisations, and the Royal Grenada Police Force.
As she prepares to transition to her next assignment within the US Department of State, Herrera reaffirmed her confidence in the future of US—Grenada relations. “The values of freedom, equality, and opportunity unite us across borders. I am honoured to have served alongside the people of Grenada and proud of the progress we have made together. I look forward to seeing the partnership between our nations continue to grow from strength to strength.”
