Antigua and Barbuda, for the first time, will be represented at the Junior Pan American Games in the table tennis and weightlifting when the 2025 instalment of the event is held in Asuncion, Paraguay, from August 9-23.
Rising table tennis star Stuti Kashyap is set to fly the country’s flag for the first time at a ‘Cames’ event while Amyah Hodge will seek to carry the country on her shoulders in weightlifting, marking the first time Antigua and Barbuda is represented in that discipline at a recognized ‘Games’ event.
Kasyap is entering as the highest-ranked athlete in her discipline and will be managed by Arleena Edwards for the duration of the competition which runs from August 16-21. Hodge’s participation in the Caribbean Championships held earlier this year in Barbados, made her eligible to participate in the Junior Pan American Games. She will compete in the 77kg class and will be managed by veteran and IFBB Pro, Steve Williams.
Antigua and Barbuda is qualified and approved to participate in six disciplines at this year’s games, which are sailing, athletics, swimming, fencing and for the first time, weightlifting and table tennis.
The junior games will also provide direct qualification for Lima 2027 to athletes who win gold medals. A total of 4206 athletes from 41 countries are expected to compete across 28 sports.

Swimming (August 10-14): Aunjelique Liddie, Madison McMillian, Ethan Stubbs-Greene, Tivon Benjamin and Nelson Molina (Coach).
Sailing (August 15-17): O’zari Landford (Laser Class), Karl James (Coach).
Table Tennis (August 16-21): Stuti Kashyap, Arleena Edwards (Manager).
Weightlifting: Amyah Hodge, Steve Williams (Coach).
Fencing (August 10-12): Jewel Crump, Vaughn Charles (Manager).
Team Antigua and Barbuda will be headed by Chef de Mission, former national netballer, Karen Joseph. She will be assisted by the ABNOC Office Supervisor, Eric Henry.
Meanwhile, President of the Antigua and Barbuda National Olympic Committee (ABNOC), E.P. Chet Greene, will be represented at the Panam Sports Annual General Assembly, scheduled for August 7-8 also in Paraguay. Secretary General of the ABNOC, Cliff Williams, will also attend the congress.
