Hosts Antigua and Barbuda got off to a strong start at the 2025 ECVA U23 Men’s Championship, dispatching Anguilla in straight sets 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-17) in match number two of the tournament’s opening day on Wednesday.
Led by standout performer Jedidiah Christian, who tallied seven points in the contest, the Antigua side dominated proceedings from start to finish.
The team’s clinical show saw them win all three sets convincingly, never allowing Anguilla to gain a foothold in the match.
Anguilla’s top scorer Amani Richardson managed five points but it proved insufficient against the well-organized Antiguan squad.
The tournament opened with Dominica claiming a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Grenada (28-26, 25-16, 23-25, 25-18, as Dominica’s Larian Tulloch stood out with an impressive 15 points, while Grenada’s Jamal Collins contributed 11 points in the losing effort.
Saint Lucia also completed a clean sweep of day one results, defeating St Vincent and the Grenadines 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-12) in the final match of the opening day.
Saint Lucia continued their dominant form into day two, defeating Anguilla 3-0 (27-25, 25-17, 25-12) in the first game of the second day’s action on Thursday.

The championship provides valuable competitive experience for the region’s young volleyball talent as they compete for regional supremacy.
