For persons who have lost their expired voter’s ID, the Commission advises that a valid government-issued ID must be presented to proceed.
As part of the process, applicants’ demographic information may be updated, including a new photograph and signature, along with fingerprint validation. ABEC noted that replacement cards will be ready within approximately two weeks of application and must be collected from the respective constituency registration unit.
The Commission also stated that expired cards will be retained by registration officers once new cards are issued.
The initiative comes amid heightened focus on voter readiness, with authorities encouraging citizens to ensure their documentation is up to date ahead of any potential elections.
