The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) is currently investigating the cause of a structural fire that occurred on Friday, 27 March 2026, along Grand Etang Road, St George’s.
At approximately 3:43 am, officers attached to the Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at the old St James Hotel (old CID building). Upon arrival, they observed the 2-storey abandoned building fully engulfed in flames. The fire crew acted swiftly, utilising over 11,000 gallons of water to contain and extinguish the blaze. Nearby buildings were not affected.
The RGPF reminds the public to act responsibly, particularly during the severe dry season, to minimise the risk and impact of fires.
