Prime Minister of Aruba, Mike G. Eman together with the Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Aruba, Jocelyne M.M.Croes, had a phone conference with the Consul General Ramon (Chico) Negron earlier today on Christmas Eve and were informed of the following:
The U.S. Air Forces Southern and the Dutch Caribbean Air Navigation Service Provider (DC-ANSP) have agreed on a new plan to make flying safer and more efficient in the skies around the ABC islands—Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao.
This plan focuses on better managing flight altitudes, airspace, and timing. By doing so, both civilian and military aircraft can move through the Southern Caribbean with fewer delays and more predictability. Importantly, the agreement keeps certain flight corridors clear of U.S. military activities, ensuring smooth travel for commercial airlines, private planes.
The agreement highlights strong cooperation between U.S. and our aviation authorities. Through improved planning and real-time coordination, flights to and from the ABC islands will be safer and faster, while maintaining necessary separation from any furhter U.S. military training and missions.
